Apples-to-apples, sedan-to-sedan, Genesis is about 2600 units behind Lexus. G70 to IS, G80 to GS, G90 to LS. You are correct in that the ES is an outlier and that it doesn't compete with anything Genesis has to offer. Which is why it's irrelevant. Only the Genesis G80 V8 is close to US$60k; the Lexus GS F V8 is close to US$90k.
Hi everybody, New to the forum in the process of buying a 2005 model GS300, at the moment i own a Merc W211 E220cdi class and are just sick of things going wrong all the time! i realise the the Gs300 will be thirsty on juice compared with the E220cdi but am thinking along the lines that if not so many things go wrong with it then it should balance out, any common problems that i should be
Remove the kick panel trim along the driver's side of the car. Unclip the seatbelts and remove the rear seats. Lift up on the bottom cushions to unclip them. The back cushions are held in by four bolts along the bottom and two at the top of each corner. Remove these bolts and the pull up on the seat to lift it out.

Hello Guys!. I have a 2002 Lexus GS 300 and it is slow of the start. I have driven other GS 300 and they are much faster of the start. It drives perfect, new tune up and everything up to date on maintenance. Anything can be adjusted or anybody can recommend what to look into. Thank you in advance.
Join Date: Aug 2002. Location: Clovis, CA, USA. Posts: 12,839. I tow a 2000 Lexus RX300. I actually talked to the Lexus dealer and they gave me a letter stating it could be towed 4 down. I've pulled it about 50,000 miles so far. However I don't know if the GS-300 has the same transmission nor if Lexus says it's 4 down towable.

On that note, it was back to the drawing board for Lexus, and they soon ceased production of the first generation GS300’s in July 1997.
